ChargePoint launches Express Solo EV charger with 600kW charging speed
ChargePoint Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CHPT) introduced the Express Solo, a standalone electric vehicle charger capable of delivering up to 600kW charging speed to a single vehicle. The company stated this represents the launch of its next-generation DC fast charging architecture.
The Express Solo can charge up to four vehicles simultaneously when paired with an additional dispenser, distributing power up to 600kW per port in various combinations. ChargePoint said the system delivers approximately 40% higher power density than other DC charging solutions while occupying a smaller footprint.
The charger will be available in both North America and Europe, marking ChargePoint's first DC fast charger designed for sale in both markets. The system was codeveloped with Eaton Corp. for bidirectional charging and battery storage integration capabilities.
"The Express DC fast charging architecture delivers differentiation. Not just by higher output, but by how economically, efficiently, and flexibly that power is delivered," said Rick Wilmer, ChargePoint's chief executive officer.
The Express Solo integrates with onsite renewable energy generation, energy storage systems, and power distribution technologies. ChargePoint said the system addresses grid constraints, charging speeds, reliability, and cost challenges in DC fast charging deployment.
The charger features ChargePoint's Omni Port system, which supports both NACS and CCS connector types. Installation costs are reduced due to the compact design, according to the company's press release.
ChargePoint will display the Express Solo at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Las Vegas from May 4-7, 2026. The company operates over 1.37 million public and private charging ports worldwide and has facilitated more than 21 billion electric miles of driving.
