Innoviz Technologies launches ultra long-range LiDAR with 1-kilometer sensing
Innoviz Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: INVZ) announced the launch of its InnovizTwo Ultra Long-Range LiDAR sensor, capable of detecting objects at distances up to 1 kilometer. The company has delivered first samples to select customers.
The new LiDAR sensor features detection capability at distances up to 1 kilometer and increased point-cloud resolution. The Class 1 eye-safe sensor is designed for wide-area sensing applications including robotaxis, heavy trucks, borders, runways, and large installations.
The InnovizTwo ULR LiDAR provides high-resolution 3D point cloud of up to 667 points per square degree and offers a wide 120° x 24° field of view with digitally controlled panning of ±5°. The sensor includes Power over Ethernet connectivity for applications requiring streamlined deployment on existing infrastructure.
"Physical AI systems require precise, real-time 3D understanding of the world, not probabilistic inference alone," said Omer Keilaf, CEO and Co-Founder of Innoviz. "The combination of kilometer-scale range, extremely high-resolution 3D sensing, and the durability of an automotive-grade LiDAR gives operators across a wide range of industries a tool that performs reliably in harsh conditions, day or night."
The sensor is built using the same production tools and processes as the company's InnovizTwo LiDAR sensor. Applications include border and perimeter security, drone detection, traffic monitoring, airport safety, and large area industrial automation.
The new product extends Innoviz's InnovizTwo product line and SMART family, which targets security, mobility, aerial, robotics and traffic intelligence management applications beyond automotive use.
Innoviz Technologies operates as a supplier of LiDAR sensor platforms for automotive manufacturers and other industries across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
