BTQ Technologies names Dr. Gopikrishnan Muraleedharan research head
BTQ Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: BTQ) appointed Dr. Gopikrishnan Muraleedharan as Head of Quantum Algorithm and Applications Research, according to a company press release.
Dr. Muraleedharan will be based full-time in BTQ's Sydney, Australia office and will lead the company's quantum algorithms research team. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of New Mexico and completed postdoctoral research at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Macquarie University.
The appointment formalizes a three-year collaboration between Dr. Muraleedharan and BTQ, during which he served as an advisor and research partner. He has contributed to the development of technologies for BTQ's Quantum Proof-of-Work initiative and one-shot signatures.
"Gopi has already been an important contributor to BTQ's research efforts over the past several years," said Olivier Roussy Newton, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of BTQ Technologies.
BTQ received an Australian Government Industry Growth Program Advisory Service grant to support commercialization of its Quantum Compute-In-Memory initiative. The company's 13-person QCIM engineering team has filled 12 of 13 key roles, with ASIC IP performance estimates for ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SHA-3, and AES targeted for Q2 2026.
The company has exercised its option to acquire QPerfect, a neutral-atom quantum computing company, with a €2 million equity injection completed. The full acquisition remains subject to regulatory approval. BTQ's team is collaborating with QPerfect researchers in Strasbourg, France on hardware-software co-design work.
QPerfect has expanded with eight new PhD-level hires and published three research papers with the University of Strasbourg. The team's MIMIQ platform has been integrated into SDT Inc.'s QUREKA hybrid platform for cloud-based quantum emulation services across Asia-Pacific.
