ATEX appoints Hannes Portmann to board of directors

ATEX Resources Inc. (TSXV: ATX) (OTCQB: ATXRF) announced the appointment of Hannes Portmann to its board of directors, effective immediately.



Portmann currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Gold Candle Ltd. He previously held CFO positions at Cabot Management Company Limited from early 2022 and at Marathon Gold Corporation from October 2019 to early 2022. Earlier in his career, he spent a decade at New Gold Inc., advancing to become President and Chief Executive Officer.



He served as a director of SilverCrest Metals Inc. for six years until its $1.7 billion sale to Coeur Mining Inc. in February 2025. Portmann also served on Gold Candle Ltd.'s board from November 2024 until becoming CFO in July 2025.



Portmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Queen's University and a Masters of Management and Professional Accounting from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant.



In connection with the appointment, ATEX's board granted Portmann 37,313 restricted share units. Each unit represents a right to receive one common share or equivalent cash payment at the company's discretion. The units vest upon retirement from board membership, provided he serves continuously for at least two years.



ATEX is a mineral exploration company developing the Valeriano Copper-Gold Project in Chile's Atacama Region. The project has an indicated resource of 475 million tonnes at 0.88% copper equivalent and an inferred resource of 1,511 million tonnes at 0.75% copper equivalent, according to a September 2025 report.
