Journey Medical secures third major GPO contract for Emrosi rosacea drug
Journey Medical Corporation (NASDAQ: DERM) announced it has secured a contract with a third major group purchasing organization for Emrosi, expanding payer access for the rosacea treatment from approximately 100 million to over 150 million commercial lives as of April 1, 2026.
The Scottsdale, Arizona-based pharmaceutical company stated that approximately 85% of all commercial lives in the United States now have access to Emrosi following the GPO contract. Emrosi contains 40 mg minocycline hydrochloride in modified-release capsules for treating inflammatory lesions of rosacea in adults.
"We are extremely pleased with the completion of this milestone for Emrosi," said Claude Maraoui, co-founder, president and CEO of Journey Medical Corporation. "Our focus on delivering cost-effective access to high-quality dermatology therapies is expected to expand coverage and improve patient access, positioning Emrosi for sustained commercial growth."
Maraoui indicated the company will continue working on health plan formulary adoption at national and regional levels throughout 2026. He expects reduced reliance on co-pay bridging programs and improved profitability as formulary adoption increases.
According to The National Rosacea Society, rosacea affects over 17 million Americans and as many as 415 million people worldwide. The chronic inflammatory skin condition most commonly presents with facial redness, acne-like lesions and spider veins, typically affecting adults between 30 and 50 years of age.
Journey Medical markets eight branded FDA-approved prescription drugs for dermatological conditions. The company was founded by Fortress Biotech, Inc. (NASDAQ: FBIO) and files periodic reports with the SEC.
