Clean Earth receives approval to recycle solar panels at Texas facility
Clean Earth, a division of Enviri Corporation (NYSE: NVRI), received authorization from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to process solar panels at its Lancaster, Texas facility. The permit allows the site to recycle up to 600,000 solar panels annually alongside existing electronic waste recycling operations.
The facility can handle approximately 20 million pounds of solar panel material per year from various sources including damaged panels, construction waste, balance-of-system components, and end-of-life panels. Clean Earth will provide material assessment, waste profiling, and regulatory guidance to determine recycling and reuse options based on material composition and regulatory requirements.
"Grouping our electronics recycling operations in Lancaster is a direct response to what our customers and the broader renewable energy market needs — one trusted partner who can efficiently and cost-effectively manage the full lifecycle of their solar waste," said Jeff Beswick, President of Clean Earth.
The expansion supports recent Texas legislation requiring new solar facilities to undertake recycling activities for facility components. Clean Earth operates 93 locations across the United States and provides environmental waste management services.
The information comes from a company press release statement.
