BorgWarner secures seven-year controller contract extension through 2032

April 21, 2026 8:02 AM

BorgWarner Inc. (NYSE: BWA) announced a seven-year contract extension to supply eight families of controllers to an off-highway manufacturer through December 2032. The contract covers engine, machine, power module, and battery management system controllers for applications including construction vehicles, marine platforms, and stationary power systems.

The Auburn Hills, Michigan-based company stated the extension builds on decades of partnership with the unnamed manufacturer. BorgWarner will supply controllers for both conventional and electrified powertrain applications across various market segments.

"BorgWarner has an outstanding relationship with this leading off-highway manufacturer, a customer we have been supplying critical parts to for several decades," said Dr. Stefan Demmerle, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager PowerDrive Systems.

The company's engine controllers are designed to enable efficient combustion and minimize emissions in large diesel applications, supporting sensors, actuators, and heavy-duty injection systems. Machine controllers process operator inputs to direct actuators controlling machine movement in construction and excavation environments.

BorgWarner will also provide power module controllers for electric machines and battery management system controllers, demonstrating its capability to serve both traditional and electrified powertrain requirements in the off-highway sector.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
