Johnson & Johnson launches CARTOSOUND SONATA at HRS 2026 medical conference

April 21, 2026 7:45 AM

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) announced the launch of its CARTOSOUND SONATA Module at the 2026 Heart Rhythm Society Annual Meeting. The new module uses artificial intelligence to automatically transform intracardiac echocardiography images into detailed heart chamber maps for physicians treating arrhythmias.

The CARTOSOUND SONATA integrates with both SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL and NUVISION NAV ultrasound catheters, enabling treatment of atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other heart rhythm conditions. The module can identify and automatically label cardiac structures.

The launch coincides with the 30th anniversary of Johnson & Johnson's CARTO System, which serves as the foundation for the company's electrophysiology platform. The CARTO System connects imaging, mapping, and therapy technologies used in arrhythmia treatment.

At the conference, Johnson & Johnson will present 17 abstracts including new clinical data for its VARIPULSE Platform for atrial fibrillation treatment. The presentations include real-world safety data and procedural efficiency studies for the company's pulsed field ablation technology.

The company recently launched VARIPULSE Plus in the United States with automated irrigation flow control and introduced VARIPULSE Pro in Europe with a new pulse sequence designed to streamline procedures. VARIPULSE Pro is not currently approved in the United States.

Key presentations at the conference include studies on complication rates, safety surveys, and procedural workflow improvements with the VARIPULSE system. The data comes from multiple clinical investigators who serve as consultants for Johnson & Johnson.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
