DeFi Technologies portfolio firm Stablecorp launches QCAD on Kraken

April 21, 2026 7:31 AM

DeFi Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: DEFT) announced that QCAD, a Canadian dollar stablecoin developed by portfolio company Stablecorp, is now available for trading on Kraken exchange.

QCAD represents Canada's first compliant CAD stablecoin, according to the company's statement. The launch on Kraken expands market access for the digital asset through one of the major cryptocurrency exchanges.

DeFi Technologies invested in Stablecorp in September 2025 and serves as a strategic collaborator on QCAD's product development, liquidity and market access initiatives. The company views the Kraken listing as part of its strategy to support regulated digital asset infrastructure.

"The launch of QCAD on Kraken is an important milestone for Stablecorp and for the broader development of digital asset infrastructure in Canada," said Johan Wattenström, CEO of DeFi Technologies.

The QCAD Digital Trust, an Ontario trust, holds reserve assets on behalf of QCAD holders. Stablecorp positions itself as a Canadian digital asset infrastructure company focused on building blockchain solutions for financial services.

DeFi Technologies operates as a financial technology company connecting traditional capital markets with decentralized finance. The company's business includes Valour, which issues regulated digital asset exchange-traded products, and Stillman Digital, an institutional digital asset trading platform.

The announcement was made through a press release statement from the company.
