Happy Belly Food Group Inc. (CSE: HBFG) (OTCQB: HBFGF) announced that its Heal Wellness brand signed a second franchise agreement for Ottawa, Ontario. The company said this marks continued expansion for the smoothie bowl and açaí bowl restaurant concept.

Heal Wellness operates as a quick-service restaurant specializing in fresh smoothie bowls, açaí bowls, and smoothies. The Toronto-based Happy Belly Food Group acquires and scales food brands across Canada.

"We are excited to deepen our presence in Ottawa once again with the signing of our second franchise agreement for Heal," said Sean Black, chief executive officer of Happy Belly.

According to the company's press release, Heal Wellness currently operates 37 locations with more than 171 in development. Happy Belly's broader portfolio includes 666 contractually committed retail franchise locations across multiple brands in various stages of development, construction, and operation.

The company stated that Heal Wellness continues expanding across Canada and into the United States. Happy Belly also operates other restaurant brands including Pirho Fresh Greek Grill, Yolks Breakfast, and Via Cibo Italian Street Food in Ottawa.
