April 21, 2026 5:56 AM

Teledyne e2v, a unit of Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY), announced the launch of its Caiman imaging module designed for low light applications. The company made the announcement in a press release statement.

The module features the OnyxMax sensor and operates in conditions with less than 1 mlx of light. The device weighs less than standard modules and consumes below 1W of power. The Caiman supports frame rates exceeding 120 fps and includes a MIPI interface for integration with digital vision systems.

Built-in image processing capabilities include automatic exposure control, noise filtering, histogram equalization, and binning functions. The module operates in both near-infrared spectral bands and standard lighting conditions using CMOS technology.

Applications for the Caiman include night vision, surveillance, laser detection, and scientific imaging systems. The compact form factor enables extended operation periods in field deployments.

Teledyne e2v will demonstrate the Caiman module at SPIE Defense + Security in National Harbor from April 26-30, 2026. The company will occupy booth 703 during the exhibition.

Documentation, samples, and development software are available through the company's request process. Teledyne Vision Solutions operates as the imaging technology division of Teledyne Technologies, incorporating multiple imaging brands under unified management.
