8x8 launches retail communication platform in UK market
8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) announced the UK launch of Retail Nationwide, a unified communications platform designed for retail operations, at the Retail Technology Show 2026.
The platform addresses communication challenges in retail environments where traditional enterprise tools designed for desk-based workers may not suit mobile retail teams. Retail Nationwide allows calls to ring across all connected devices, enabling any available staff member to answer.
Each license includes one desk phone and up to five shared mobile or tablet devices, eliminating the need for individual licenses for every staff member. The system features standardized configuration across locations to reduce setup time when opening new stores.
"UK retailers are managing more complexity with leaner teams than ever with staff helping customers, dealing with online orders, trying to answer queries across multiple channels, and so much more," said Michelle Kelly, Retail Expert at 8x8. "The communication infrastructure many stores are running on wasn't built for that."
8x8 is partnering with Global Telecom Networks for the UK rollout. The company also showcased additional retail solutions including 8x8 Aftersale Assist for post-purchase support and 8x8 Sales Assist for customer engagement.
The platform includes mobile device management integration for large-scale deployments, support for shared handheld devices, and centralized remote configuration for multi-site operations. 8x8 exhibited at Stand G22 at the ExCel London venue.
