RPM International adds Thomas Gentile to board of directors
RPM International Inc. (NYSE: RPM) appointed Thomas C. Gentile III to its board of directors, expanding the board to 13 members, the company announced.
Gentile currently serves as chairman, chief executive officer and president of Hexcel Corporation, a composites technology company. He became CEO and president in May 2024 and was appointed chairman in December 2024.
Before joining Hexcel, Gentile was president and CEO of Spirit AeroSystems, an aerospace supplier. He previously spent 19 years at General Electric in various leadership roles across the United States, France and Australia, including positions as president and chief operating officer of GE Capital, president and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, and president and CEO of GE Aviation Services.
Earlier in his career, Gentile held roles at McKinsey & Company, CBS and General Motors. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics magna cum laude and an MBA from Harvard University, and studied international relations at the London School of Economics.
Gentile will serve on RPM's compensation committee. Frank C. Sullivan, RPM chairman and CEO, said Gentile's manufacturing leadership and industrial operations experience align with the company's strategic goals.
RPM operates through three segments: consumer, construction products and performance coatings. The company owns specialty coating and building material brands including Rust-Oleum, DAP, Zinsser and Tremco, and employs approximately 17,800 people worldwide.
