Celanese adds Anne Noonan to board of directors

Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE) announced the election of Anne P. Noonan to its board of directors, effective April 20, 2026. The appointment brings the total number of board members to 10, with nine independent directors.



Noonan, 62, most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Summit Materials Inc., a construction materials company, from September 2020 to February 2025. At Summit, she led the company's strategic transformation focusing on operational discipline and growth across regions and product lines.



Prior to Summit Materials, Noonan held the position of president and chief executive officer at OMNOVA Solutions Inc., a provider of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals, and engineered surfaces, from 2016 to 2020. She previously served as president of performance chemicals at OMNOVA from 2014 to 2016.



Before joining OMNOVA, Noonan spent 27 years at Chemtura Corporation, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, where she held leadership positions across strategic marketing, product development, mergers and acquisitions, and general management.



Noonan currently serves on the boards of CF Industries Holdings Inc., a nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer, and Qnity Electronics Inc., a technology solutions provider for semiconductor and electronics industries.



She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a Master of Science in organometallic chemistry from University College Dublin, Ireland.



"Her extensive background in leading chemical and manufacturing businesses demonstrates a track record of strategic vision, operational expertise, and value generation," said Ed Galante, chair of Celanese's board.



Noonan will stand for re-election at the 2027 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, according to the company statement.
