Grid Dynamics helps Galeries Lafayette boost revenue 7% with AI search
Grid Dynamics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: GDYN) announced that French department store Galeries Lafayette achieved a 7% revenue increase after implementing an AI-powered search and merchandising platform.
The retailer also reported an 8% rise in average basket value and a 20% year-over-year increase in online sales following the deployment of Google Vertex AI Search for Commerce integrated with Grid Dynamics' Merchandising Experience Platform.
The initiative addressed challenges with Galeries Lafayette's legacy search system, which struggled to manage a catalog of 600,000 products, including 350,000 from third-party marketplaces. The previous system produced poor search relevance and required extensive manual work from merchandising teams.
The new platform provides personalized experiences for website visitors using real-time data to ensure accurate product availability and pricing information.
"The tests conducted this summer demonstrated significant benefits on all of our business and product KPIs, confirming the relevance of this technological choice for our hyper-personalization strategy," said Lucas Serralta, Chief Product Officer at Galeries Lafayette.
Grid Dynamics reported that the platform maintained stability during peak commercial operations while delivering measurable improvements in search conversion, recommendation-driven revenue, and merchandising efficiency.
The San Ramon, California-based company describes itself as an AI transformation partner for Fortune 1000 companies. Grid Dynamics combines Google's search capabilities with its proprietary merchandising controls to help retailers convert complex data into customer shopping experiences.
