Viasat sets April 27, 2026 launch date for ViaSat-3 F3 satellite

April 20, 2026 9:01 AM

Viasat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) announced April 27, 2026 as the launch date for its ViaSat-3 F3 satellite, which will complete the company's three-satellite constellation. The satellite will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Kennedy Space Center in Florida during an 85-minute window starting at 10:21 a.m. EDT.

The ViaSat-3 F3 satellite is designed to provide coverage over the Asia-Pacific region with more than 1 terabit per second of throughput capacity. Following launch, the satellite will spend several months traveling to geostationary orbit before beginning rigorous testing. Service entry is expected by late summer 2026.

"ViaSat-3 F3 will substantially increase capacity that is secure, reliable and highly flexible for customers operating in APAC while delivering greater bandwidth economics," said Mark Dankberg, Chairman and CEO of Viasat.

The ViaSat-3 constellation includes three satellites providing regional coverage. ViaSat-3 F1 entered service in 2024, while ViaSat-3 F2 continues in-orbit testing. The company stated that ViaSat-3 F2's reflector has completed bloom deployment, with final deployments expected over the next several weeks after delays caused by spring eclipse season operational constraints.

The satellites are designed to serve commercial mobility, fixed services and defense customers. Viasat completed its acquisition of Inmarsat in May 2023, combining the companies' satellite communications capabilities.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
