M2i Global partners with Regenerate Technology to bring battery recycling to US
M2i Global Inc. (OTCQB: MTWO) and Volato Group Inc. (NYSE American: SOAR) announced a strategic partnership with Regenerate Technology Global to advance battery recycling technologies in the United States, according to a press release statement.
The partnership aims to establish battery recycling facilities in the U.S. using Regenerate's hydrometallurgical processes to extract materials from used batteries. The companies are evaluating locations for construction of these facilities.
Regenerate operates facilities in Bologna, Italy, and Cambridge, United Kingdom. The Italian facility is scaling to process 49,000 tons of lead-acid batteries annually, while the Cambridge location serves as a research and development division in collaboration with Cambridge University.
The company's technology processes lead-acid, lithium-ion, and alkaline batteries. Regenerate claims its processes reduce energy consumption by over 80%, minimize greenhouse gas emissions by 90%, and achieve 20% cost savings compared to traditional recycling methods.
"We are thrilled to partner with M2i," stated David Batstone, CEO and Co-founder of Regenerate Technology Global. "Together, we are setting new standards for recycling and designs for next-generation mobile and storage batteries."
Major General (Ret) Alberto Rosende, Chief Executive Officer of M2i, said the company is "currently working with several states and identifying potential sites" for the battery recycling facilities.
M2i Global and Volato previously announced a proposed merger in the second quarter of 2025. M2i focuses on critical minerals and supply chain resilience, while Volato operates aviation technology and software platforms. The combined entity would target the U.S. critical minerals market, which the companies estimate exceeds $320 billion annually.
