Silo Pharma highlights PTSD treatment amid Trump psychedelics order

April 20, 2026 6:34 AM

Silo Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ: SILO) said its lead drug program aligns with a recent executive order signed by President Trump directing federal agencies to accelerate research into psychedelic therapies for mental health conditions.

The executive order, signed April 18, 2026, aims to fast-track research and patient access to psychedelic treatments for conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety, according to the company's statement.

Silo Pharma's SPC-15 program targets PTSD prevention through an intranasal delivery system designed for rapid brain delivery. The treatment is being developed as a serotonin 4 receptor agonist under a 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway, which the company said could streamline development timelines.

"Momentum at the national level around psychedelic therapeutics reflects what the science has been signaling for years—there is a critical need for new approaches to treating mental health conditions," said CEO Eric Weisblum.

The SPC-15 program uses intellectual property licensed from Columbia University and the company is preparing for engagement with the Food and Drug Administration regarding an investigational new drug application. Silo Pharma has partnered with a device developer to optimize the intranasal delivery mechanism.

The Sarasota, Florida-based biopharmaceutical company describes itself as a developmental-stage firm focused on treatments for underserved conditions including stress-induced psychiatric disorders and chronic pain. Its pipeline also includes SP-26 for fibromyalgia and preclinical programs targeting Alzheimer's disease.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
