BioXcel Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: BTAI) will host a virtual event on April 23 at 2:00 p.m. ET to discuss its commercial launch plan for IGALMI in the at-home setting, the company announced.

The presentation will be led by Mark Pavao, the company's interim chief commercial officer, and will focus on launch strategy initiatives ahead of the November 14 PDUFA target action date for IGALMI's approval for treating acute agitation associated with bipolar disorders and schizophrenia in at-home settings.

BioXcel recently completed a market opportunity assessment that identified up to 86 million addressable annual episodes of acute agitation in the at-home setting in the United States. The event will build on insights from this assessment.

IGALMI is currently approved as a dexmedetomidine sublingual film administered under healthcare provider supervision for acute treatment of agitation associated with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder I or II in adults. The safety and effectiveness of IGALMI has not been studied beyond 24 hours from the first dose.
