Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT) opened a new training center for HVAC technicians at its North America headquarters in Davidson, North Carolina. The company describes the 45,000-square-foot facility as the largest HVAC training center in the world.

The Trane Advanced Technology Training Center has capacity for up to 4,500 students per year and over 100,000 annual training hours. The facility offers hands-on training for technicians working with commercial HVAC systems.

"As building systems become more connected, more efficient, and more sophisticated, the expertise required to service them continues to grow," said Holly Paeper, President, Commercial HVAC Americas, Trane Technologies.

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein toured the facility during an executive roundtable on clean energy, innovation, and economic growth hosted at the Trane Technologies campus.

The company invested more than $50 million in 2024 and 2025 in the training center and an engineering and research lab for compressor development testing. The facility joins existing Trane Technologies training programs in La Crosse, Wisconsin and St. Paul, Minnesota.

Trane Technologies plans to hire more than 1,000 additional technicians over the next 18 months. The company operates the Trane Commercial HVAC Technician Apprenticeship Program, a four-year program accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor that has enrolled nearly 300 apprentices since launching in 2023.

The training center combines laboratory instruction with online learning modules and supports technicians at various career stages working with climate control systems.
