Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) announced that its Teledyne FLIR Defense unit received a contract worth more than $35 million from WB Electronics S.A., part of the WB Group, to supply TacFLIR 280-HDEP surveillance systems for reconnaissance vehicles.

The TacFLIR 280-HDEP systems provide daylight and thermal imagery, video processing and target recognition capabilities for land missions. The systems have been tested in Europe for nearly a decade, according to the company.

"The integration of TacFLIR 280-HDEP into the reconnaissance vehicles is a testament to our years-long collaboration with WB Electronics," said Dr. JihFen Lei, president of Teledyne Defense and Aerospace.

This marks the third European armored vehicle contract announcement for Teledyne FLIR Defense this year. In February, the company reported a contract for Black Hornet 4 nano-drones to be integrated on Switzerland's Piranha 8x8 vehicles. In January, the company announced it would provide thermal imaging equipment for Bulgaria's Stryker vehicles. The three contracts total more than $85 million.

The TacFLIR 280-HDEP systems are manufactured at Teledyne FLIR Defense's facility in Billerica, Massachusetts. Information is based on a company press release.
