Onto Innovation qualifies Dragonfly G5 system for AI packaging applications
Onto Innovation Inc. (NYSE: ONTO) announced the qualification of its Dragonfly G5 platform for applications in 2.5D advanced packaging, with initial shipments expected in June. The company also reported preliminary first quarter 2026 revenue of $292 million, exceeding its previous guidance of $275 to $285 million.
The Dragonfly G5 system features proprietary optics, illumination, and algorithms designed to improve visibility and throughput while reducing cost of ownership. The qualification process addressed requirements for fan-out packaging across multiple process layers.
"We were very pleased with our performance across several process layers used for fan-out packaging," said Ido Dolev, executive vice president of product solutions for Onto Innovation. "The flexibility of the system's proprietary optics and AI-enhanced software allowed us to quickly adjust to each of the many challenges and deliver compelling value to our customers."
Chief Executive Officer Mike Plisinski stated that the company has observed increased demand for its Dragonfly platforms, which are expected to grow more than 50% in 2026 compared with 2025.
Onto Innovation established second quarter 2026 guidance of $320 to $330 million, representing an 8% increase over previously shared outlook. The company plans to release full first quarter financial results after market close on May 5, 2026.
The Wilmington, Massachusetts-based company provides process control solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, including wafer quality inspection, 3D metrology, defect inspection, and lithography for advanced packaging applications.
