April 16, 2026 8:30 AM

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HCA Healthcare, Inc. (NYSE: HCA), one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers, today announced that 29 of its hospitals have been recognized as top performing hospitals in the 2026 Modern Healthcare 100 Top Hospitals Powered by Premier.

“This recognition is a testament to the extraordinary work happening every day across HCA Healthcare,” said Dr. Randy Fagin, senior vice president and chief quality officer of HCA Healthcare. “It reflects the commitment of our physicians, nurses and colleagues to advancing clinical excellence, working together across our system toward continually improving the care we provide to patients.”

Based on publicly available data from Medicare Cost Reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Care Compare, the 100 Top Hospitals are selected based on performance in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, patient experience and financial health. This year, researchers evaluated 2,540 short-term, acute care, non-federal U.S. hospitals using these publicly available data sources. Unlike ranking programs that require hospitals to apply for evaluation, the program identifies top performers through an objective, quantitative analysis of hospitals that treat a broad spectrum of patients.

In addition to scoring among the top 100, seven HCA Healthcare hospitals received the Everest Award, which honors hospitals that achieved both benchmark performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years, demonstrating exceptional and sustained progress across Premier’s balanced scorecard of performance measures.

HCA Healthcare integrates systems of care and leverages technology and robust data sets in the pursuit of delivering high-quality care in a safe environment for patients and colleagues. As a national healthcare system, HCA Healthcare uses its approximately 47 million annual patient encounters to support medical learning and healthcare transformation at its facilities and beyond. For example:

HCA Healthcare’s recognized teaching facilities and large, medium and small community hospitals were as follows:

HCA Healthcare Academic Medical Centers

HCA Healthcare Teaching Hospitals

HCA Healthcare Large Community Hospitals

HCA Healthcare Medium Community Hospitals

HCA Healthcare Small Community Hospitals
