Eightco board member to attend world ID launch event
Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ORBS) announced that board member Tom Lee will attend the World Lift Off event on April 17, 2026. Lee serves as Chairman of Bitmine and Head of Research at Fundstrat.
The company disclosed its treasury composition as of April 16, 2026, which includes $90 million in OpenAI equity, $25 million in Beast Industries equity, 11,068 ETH, 277 million Worldcoin (WLD) tokens, and $112 million in cash and equivalents. The WLD holdings represent approximately 9% of the token's circulating supply.
CEO Kevin O'Donnell will also attend the event, which will be livestreamed at 10 AM PDT. The World Lift Off event focuses on digital identity and human verification technology.
"Proof of human and verified human identity vaulted to a critical priority for social networks and banking and financial systems as AI and agentic-AI capabilities experienced an exponential step forward in the past few months," said Tom Lee.
Eightco positions itself around three sectors: artificial intelligence through its OpenAI stake (28% of balance sheet), digital identity via Worldcoin holdings (22%), and the creator economy through Beast Industries (8%). The company reports that OpenAI represents $90 million of its treasury assets, while Beast Industries accounts for $25 million.
According to the announcement, ChatGPT overtook TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook in monthly worldwide downloads in early 2026, based on Sensor Tower data. Beast Industries achieved a $5.2 billion private valuation with over 500 million combined followers across platforms.
The press release states that automated traffic now accounts for approximately 58% of global web requests in 2026. Worldcoin serves as the native token of World, a proof-of-human network developed by Tools for Humanity, co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania.
