Nokia partners with Cinia to deliver DDoS protection services
Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK) announced a partnership with Cinia to provide Distributed Denial of Service protection solutions for critical infrastructure networks. The collaboration establishes a managed security service provider model designed to protect against cyberattacks.
Under the partnership, Cinia will offer customers a managed DDoS protection service using Nokia's network-embedded detection and mitigation technology. The service operates around the clock and leverages Nokia Deepfield Defender, which uses artificial intelligence for network-embedded DDoS detection and mitigation.
Cinia operates critical digital infrastructure in Finland, including international submarine cable systems. The company requires protection against cyber threats to maintain connectivity services for Finnish customers.
"Our cooperation with Nokia enables us to offer the most advanced DDoS protection capabilities on the market to our customers," said Jukka-Pekka Lithovius, Development Director at Cinia. The partnership combines Cinia's Network Operation Center and Security Operations Center services with Nokia's technology.
"Working with Cinia underscores Nokia's commitment to securing critical infrastructures globally and locally," said Jeff Smith, Vice President and General Manager of Nokia Deepfield. The collaboration integrates Nokia's Deepfield and IP routing solutions with Cinia's managed services.
The Deepfield solution provides network visibility through analysis of IP network and flow telemetry. The system correlates data with internet context obtained through Deepfield Genome to support operational requirements for managing connectivity infrastructure.
The partnership focuses on cybersecurity for critical national assets and enhances Cinia's capability to deliver security services with local support and consultancy services.
