Voyager Technologies wins NASA contract for seventh private astronaut mission

April 15, 2026 4:05 PM

Voyager Technologies (NYSE: VOYG) signed an order with NASA for the seventh Private Astronaut Mission to the International Space Station, with a launch scheduled no earlier than 2028, according to a company statement.

The mission, designated VOYG-1, supports NASA's strategy to transition low-Earth orbit operations to the private sector. The initiative aims to establish a framework where commercial partners provide human spaceflight services that extend the agency's exploration capabilities.

"This award reflects decades of partnership with NASA and validates our belief that the infrastructure being built in low-Earth orbit today is the launchpad for humanity's future in deep space," said Dylan Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Voyager Technologies.

Voyager Technologies described the mission as part of its human spaceflight portfolio, positioning it as preparation for commercial space stations and future deep-space platforms. The company stated the mission will test life-support technologies, crew operations protocols, and integrated systems architectures required for lunar surface missions.

The announcement connects to Voyager's lunar initiative and its investment in Max Space, which develops expandable habitat technology. Max Space's habitats launch in a compact form and deploy to up to 20 times their stowed volume at their destination.

Voyager Technologies operates as a defense and space technology company focused on mission-critical solutions. The company combines International Space Station mission management experience with commercial station development through its Starlab project.
