GoodRx offers Wegovy HD at $399 monthly self-pay price
GoodRx Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: GDRX) announced that Wegovy HD, a higher-dose version of the weight-loss medication semaglutide, is now available through its platform at $399 per month for eligible self-pay patients.
The pricing structure includes a two-month supply for $798 and a three-month supply for $1,197. Wegovy HD is the 7.2 mg injection dose of semaglutide, which received FDA approval as an additional option within the existing Wegovy portfolio.
The medication is available at pharmacies nationwide through GoodRx's platform. Patients can determine eligibility and obtain prescriptions through GoodRx for Weight Loss, the company's subscription service that connects consumers with licensed healthcare providers.
"Wegovy HD is a strong example of how manufacturers are expanding options to support patients at different stages of treatment," said Wendy Barnes, president and CEO at GoodRx, according to the company's press release.
Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Wegovy, partnered with GoodRx to provide access to the higher-dose option. Ed Cinca, senior vice president of marketing and patient solutions at Novo Nordisk, stated the company aims to "give patients the right option at the right time in their treatment."
The announcement reflects growing demand for GLP-1 treatments, with many consumers seeking access outside traditional insurance coverage. GoodRx's platform provides upfront pricing information and connects patients directly to pharmacy access.
GoodRx reports that nearly 25 million consumers and over one million healthcare professionals use its platform annually. The company has facilitated over $100 billion in medication savings since 2011.
