April 15, 2026 8:32 AM

Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT) announced the expansion of its Commvault Flex partner ecosystem to include Hitachi Vantara and NetApp. The data protection platform, previously called HyperScale Flex, connects to external high performance flash storage pools for organizations managing large datasets.

The integration targets general availability this summer, according to the company's statement. Commvault Flex delivers data protection and resilience with a flexible architecture designed for organizations with dynamic datasets requiring scalable performance and capacity.

"Commvault Flex, in tandem with Hitachi Vantara, NetApp, and other partners, enables customers to scale their flash storage solutions to meet demands for multiple petabyte throughput," said Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Commvault.

The expanded ecosystem builds on existing partnerships with Everpure, HPE, and VAST Data. The Commvault Flex platform is delivered as a software image that can be installed on validated server hardware and connected with partner storage hardware.

Dan McConnell, Senior Vice President at Hitachi Vantara, stated that the partnership helps deliver "trusted, intelligent and scalable infrastructure with exceptional performance, data availability, cyber resilience and efficiency."

NetApp's Gagan Gulati, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data Services, said the combination provides "a powerful, end-to-end cyber resilience solution" by integrating Commvault Flex's capabilities with NetApp's data platform featuring AI-driven ransomware detection.

Pricing will be configured based on specific server and storage options selected for the solution. The company cited industry projections showing AI-ready data center capacity demand rising at 33 percent annually as organizations adopt AI for mission-critical applications.
