Collins Aerospace, a unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), announced that three international airlines have selected its Helix main cabin seat for upcoming narrowbody aircraft deliveries. The orders will cover approximately 200 aircraft across Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 family variants.

The company said the Helix seat is designed to provide additional living space while reducing weight compared to previous seat generations. The seat features what Collins describes as improved ergonomics and customer-selectable amenities.

"Our airline customers are looking for cabin solutions to support the next decade of narrowbody travel, particularly as fleets and network strategies continue to evolve," said Steve Kotso, vice president and general manager of Commercial Seating for Collins Aerospace.

Collins Aerospace stated that the Helix design reduces part count and complexity while maintaining existing seating densities. The company said the seat is currently in development, with deliveries scheduled to begin near the end of 2027 in coordination with aircraft delivery schedules.

The announcement was made at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany, where the Helix seating is on display. Collins Aerospace did not identify the three launch customers in its announcement.

RTX reported 2025 sales of more than $88 billion and employs over 180,000 people globally. Collins Aerospace operates as the company's aerospace systems division with approximately 80,000 employees.
