Blue Bird names Lyndon Lie as senior VP of engineering
Blue Bird Corporation (NASDAQ: BLBD) appointed Lyndon Lie as senior vice president of engineering, according to a company press release. Lie will oversee all engineering functions across Blue Bird's platforms and manage engineering integration related to the Micro Bird acquisition.
The appointment aims to support Blue Bird's long-term growth strategy and enhance the company's product portfolio. Lie will be responsible for product development, platform engineering, innovation and execution.
"Lyndon brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of leading complex engineering organizations," said John Wyskiel, Blue Bird's president and CEO. "His extensive expertise in vehicle systems and electrification will be critical as we scale our engineering capabilities, integrate our upcoming acquisitions, and deliver innovative, industry-leading solutions for our customers."
Lie brings over 30 years of experience in global engineering leadership across the automotive and commercial vehicle industries. His previous senior engineering roles include positions at Volkswagen Group of America, Nikola Corporation, General Motors and TPI Composites. His background encompasses vehicle systems, electrification, advanced driver-assistance technologies and global product launches.
Lie holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Oakland University and an Executive MBA from Michigan State University.
Blue Bird manufactures electric and low-emission school buses and has sold more than 25,000 propane, natural gas and electric powered buses.
