April 14, 2026 8:45 AM

Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC) announced a three-year exclusivity extension with Brain Corp for next-generation robotic floor care technology. The Minneapolis-based cleaning equipment manufacturer plans to release 10 new robotic products within 24 months as part of its goal to build a $250 million autonomous equipment business by 2028.

The agreement expands the companies' existing partnership, with Tennant handling customer-facing operations including sales, service, and equipment design, while Brain Corp provides the underlying autonomy platform and artificial intelligence technology. Tennant has established a dedicated robotics team that consolidates sales, research and development, product management, and customer support functions.

"This next phase reflects how far we've come—and where we're going," said Dave Huml, Tennant's president and chief executive officer. "By accelerating our product roadmap, and simplifying how customers buy autonomous cleaning solutions, we are reinforcing Tennant's leadership in robotics."

Brain Corp's BrainOS platform powers autonomous navigation for cleaning robots. The San Diego-based company reports having more than 40,000 robots deployed across six continents. "Tennant has demonstrated what it takes to take autonomy from innovation to enterprise-scale deployment," said David Pinn, Brain Corp's chief executive officer.

Tennant, founded in 1870, reported $1.20 billion in sales in 2025 and employs approximately 4,500 people. The company manufactures cleaning equipment for industrial, commercial and outdoor environments and operates in more than 21 countries directly and through distributors in over 100 countries.
