Marsh names CFO McGivney as executive VP and COO
Marsh (NYSE: MRSH) announced that Chief Financial Officer Mark McGivney will take on additional roles as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective April 15.
McGivney will retain his CFO position while assuming the new responsibilities. In his expanded role, he will support CEO John Doyle and the Marsh Executive Committee in developing and accelerating the firm's strategy, particularly for initiatives that span multiple business units.
"Mark has been instrumental in the success and performance of Marsh for nearly 20 years," said CEO John Doyle in a statement. "As CFO, he supported the design and execution of our strategy, and in his expanded role, he will help drive forward company priorities at an even greater pace and scale."
McGivney will lead the company's inorganic strategies and oversee execution of top priorities. The Marsh Executive Committee will continue to report directly to Doyle.
McGivney joined Marsh in 2007 and has served as CFO for over a decade, taking the role in January 2016. His previous positions at the company include Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Mercer, and Chief Financial Officer of Marsh Risk.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island.
Marsh operates as a risk management and consulting firm serving clients in 130 countries, with annual revenue of $27 billion and more than 95,000 employees.
