Peraso ships 60GHz modules to Israeli defense contractor for drone systems
Peraso Inc. (NASDAQ: PRSO) delivered an initial production shipment of 60GHz modules to Israeli defense contractor InTACT for military identification friend or foe systems, the company announced.
The modules are designed for military IFF applications, including infantry and drone deployments. The integrated solution combines Peraso's hardware with software implementing InTACT's IFF protocol and incorporates power reduction algorithms for battery-operated platforms.
The companies collaborated to optimize the module hardware and software for military applications, focusing on reducing size, weight and power consumption. The Peraso module incorporates beamforming antenna technology, which the company states offers a lower probability of detection compared to traditional radio frequency approaches.
"There is an immediate demand for an IFF system like this and Peraso's technical team has done an outstanding job of adapting our technology for military applications," said Ronald Glibbery, CEO of Peraso.
InTACT CEO Meir Rappart stated the companies have maintained their relationship since 2024. "Our system knowledge, coupled with Peraso's 60GHz semiconductor and related software expertise, have yielded what we believe to be a significant advancement in IFF technology," he said.
According to the press release, InTACT is engaged with potential customers for its drone IFF systems. The solution offers directional beamforming communications, low power consumption for battery-operated platforms, and compact integration for drones and soldier-borne systems.
Peraso develops 60 GHz wireless technology, offering chipsets, modules, software and intellectual property for applications including fixed wireless access, military systems, immersive video and factory automation.
