EagleNXT invests $10M in ThirdEye Systems, forms US joint venture
AgEagle Aerial Systems Inc. (NYSE: UAVS), operating as EagleNXT, announced a $10 million strategic investment in Israeli counter-drone developer ThirdEye Systems Ltd. and the formation of a joint venture called ThirdEye USA, LLC.
The joint venture will operate from EagleNXT's headquarters in Allen, Texas, with EagleNXT holding a 51% stake and ThirdEye Systems owning 49%. EagleNXT will appoint three of the five managers for the new entity, which will serve the U.S. and Canadian markets with counter-drone products and systems.
ThirdEye Systems develops electro-optical recognition and AI-powered counter-drone systems, with products including the Argus Shield, Meduza X, Chimera UL, vEYE, fEYE, and Tesseract. The company has deployed its optical detection systems across fixed installations, tactical vehicles, and drone-mounted solutions.
"ThirdEye Systems has developed world-class, high performance optical recognition and counter-drone capabilities that complement our expanding portfolio of UAS solutions," said Bill Irby, EagleNXT's CEO. "With the establishment of the ThirdEye USA joint venture in our Allen, Texas facility, we are strengthening our position in the defense and security markets while delivering American-produced, localized solutions that align with U.S. acquisition and export requirements."
The collaboration combines EagleNXT's unmanned aerial systems expertise with ThirdEye Systems' AI-driven electro-optical algorithms. The joint venture will utilize EagleNXT's existing U.S. manufacturing and testing infrastructure to enable domestic production and compliance with U.S. requirements.
EagleNXT expects ThirdEye USA to become operational by May 2026. The company also referenced a recent strategic investment in Aerodrome Group Ltd., which adds loitering munition capabilities to its portfolio.
