Lucid names former Schindler Group CEO Silvio Napoli as chief executive
Lucid Group Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID) announced that Silvio Napoli will serve as the company's next chief executive officer and join its board of directors, according to a company statement.
Napoli previously served as chairman and CEO of Schindler Group, a global industrial technology company. He will relocate from Switzerland to the United States for the position. Marc Winterhoff, who has been serving as interim CEO, will transition to chief operating officer when Napoli assumes the role.
"Silvio is a proven global leader with deep experience leading complex, technology‑driven organizations through periods of rapid growth and operational scaling," said Turqi Alnowaiser, chairman of Lucid's board of directors.
During his tenure at Schindler Group, Napoli led global operations across multiple markets and oversaw the company's transition toward a technology-enabled, service-oriented business model. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he earned as a Fulbright scholar.
Winterhoff led Lucid through what the company described as an expansion and refinement of its strategy during his interim leadership period. The company has been working to scale production of its Lucid Air sedan and Lucid Gravity SUV while developing its upcoming midsize vehicle platform.
Lucid manufactures vehicles at facilities in Arizona and Saudi Arabia. The Newark, California-based company focuses on electric vehicle technology and software-defined vehicle architectures.
"Working with Marc and the executive team, my focus will be on consistent execution, financial discipline and helping translate Lucid's breakthrough innovations into long-term value," Napoli stated.
The announcement follows what the company characterized as a comprehensive search process for its next CEO.
