N-able launches disaster recovery service to reduce downtime
N-able Inc. (NYSE: NABL) announced the expansion of its Cove Data Protection platform with a new Disaster Recovery as a Service offering. The cybersecurity company said the service enables organizations to recover from cyber incidents and site failures using cloud-hosted recovery environments.
The new service maintains pre-staged virtual servers in N-able's cloud infrastructure, allowing organizations to fail over to secure environments during incidents. This approach differs from traditional disaster recovery methods that restore systems after an incident occurs.
According to the company, the service addresses challenges including unpredictable cloud costs, limited in-house expertise, and operational burden of managing recovery environments. Organizations can select specific workloads to protect and maintain business operations during disruptions.
"Downtime and data loss are no longer acceptable risks, especially as cyberattacks continue to target production and backup environments," said Chris Groot, General Manager of Cove Data Protection at N-able. "With Cove DRaaS, we're providing MSPs and IT teams with a secure, cloud-hosted recovery environment that enables rapid failover when it matters most."
The service allows businesses to deliver disaster recovery without building dedicated infrastructure. N-able said the co-managed approach reflects growing demand for vendor-managed disaster recovery solutions as IT teams face resource constraints.
Scott Hawkey, Technical Director at PCS, said the service streamlined disaster recovery processes compared to previous third-party tools. "The process is far more streamlined and intuitive, freeing up our team to spend more time supporting customers rather than managing infrastructure," Hawkey stated.
N-able serves more than 500,000 organizations globally with its cybersecurity platform, according to the company statement.
