Collins Aerospace, a unit of RTX (NYSE: RTX), announced that Air Canada will equip its entire fleet of 30 Airbus A321XLR aircraft with the company's seating solutions. The aircraft will feature 14 Aurora business class suites and 168 Meridian+ economy seats.

The companies unveiled the custom Aurora suites at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany. The lie-flat suites were designed in collaboration with Air Canada and design partner Acumen, incorporating custom materials, wood, stone, and bronze accents.

"Aurora is designed to provide a widebody business class experience on single-aisle aircraft, offering passengers the comfort, space and privacy expected on long-haul flights," said Cynthia Muklevicz, vice president of Global Airlines and Lessors for Collins Aerospace.

The Aurora suite configuration is designed to fit the A321XLR dimensions, allowing for an additional row of premium seating and expanded galley capacity for long-haul service requirements.

John Moody, managing director of On-Board Product for Air Canada, stated that the Aurora suite aims to create "a space that feels exceptionally inviting and highly personal" through the use of space, technology, and materials.

The Meridian+ economy seats incorporate design elements from widebody aircraft solutions and feature an articulating seat diaphragm designed to adapt for passenger comfort. Air Canada selected enhanced seatback options for storage, entertainment, and power supply.

The first Air Canada A321XLR is scheduled to enter service this spring. Customer demonstrations of both seating products are being conducted at the Aircraft Interiors Expo this week.
