General Dynamics wins $273 million in US Navy contracts
Investing.com -- General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD) has been awarded three US Navy contracts totaling approximately $273.45 million, the Department of War announced Monday.
The largest award went to General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia, which secured a $183.23 million firm-fixed-price contract for maintenance, modernization, and repair of USS Truxtun (DDG 103) during its Fiscal 2026 Depot Modernization Period. The contract includes options that could increase its total value to $183.58 million if exercised. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Virginia, with completion expected by April 2028.
The contract is funded primarily by fiscal 2026 other procurement Navy funds totaling $172.22 million, representing 94% of the award. Additional funding includes $10.98 million from fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance Navy funds, $593,427 from fiscal 2025 other procurement Navy funds, and $31,742 from defense wide procurement funds. The contract was competitively procured through the System for Award website, with two offers received. Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton, Connecticut, received two separate contract modifications. The first is a $55.55 million cost-plus-fixed-fee modification for continued New England Maintenance Manpower Initiative support of non-nuclear maintenance for submarines based at Naval Submarine Support Facility New London. The second is a $34.68 million cost-plus-fixed-fee modification for continued Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department support at the same facility.
Both Electric Boat contracts will be performed in Groton, Connecticut, with completion expected by April 2027. Each contract will receive $20 million in fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance Navy funds at time of award, which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
