April 13, 2026 4:15 PM

Astronics Corporation (NASDAQ: ATRO) announced the launch of its EmPower Qi2 Wireless Charging Module designed for aircraft cabin integration. The module delivers 25 watts of output power and features MagSafe compatibility for device alignment and magnetic retention.

The wireless charging system supports Qi-enabled devices including smartphones and tablets. The module includes backward compatibility with non-Qi2 smartphones and accommodates large smartphone camera lenses through its design.

The product targets integration into passenger seating, galleys, and crew rest areas in aircraft cabins. The module includes in-use light signals for charging status indication and allows replacement in under three minutes for maintenance purposes.

Jon Neal, President of Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems, stated the module "builds on the success of our industry leading first generation wireless charging module and reflects Astronics' commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions."

Technical specifications include compliance with DO-160 and aircraft OEM environmental requirements, along with a predicted mean time between failures of 50,000 hours. The module is designed for commercial aviation environments and supports certification processes.

The announcement follows the company's previous wireless charging technology offerings for the aerospace sector. Astronics provides power, connectivity, lighting, and other technologies for aerospace and defense industries.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
