April 13, 2026 4:10 PM

Jack in the Box Inc. (NASDAQ: JACK) appointed Eduardo Luz to its board of directors as an independent director, the company announced. David Goebel and Madeleine Kleiner will retire from the board effective May 8, 2026.

The board will reduce its size to nine members following these changes. Luz brings over 30 years of experience in the restaurant and consumer goods industries to the San Diego-based hamburger chain operator.

Luz most recently served as CEO of P.F. Chang's, where he focused on streamlined operations and digital capabilities. Prior to that role, he was Chief Brand and Concept Officer at Panera Bread, leading brand strategy and digital marketing functions. Earlier in his career, he served as Zone President, North America and President of the Grocery business unit at The Kraft Heinz Company.

"Eduardo is an accomplished restaurant industry executive with significant leadership and brand-building experience," said Mark King, Independent Chair of the Board, according to the company's statement.

The appointment is part of Jack in the Box's board refreshment efforts over the past year. The company operates and franchises approximately 2,125 restaurants across 22 states.

Luz holds an MBA from The Wharton School and began his career as a management consultant at Accenture. The board will continue evaluating opportunities for additional refreshment to align with the company's evolving business needs, according to the announcement.
