Textron Aviation Defense LLC, a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), received a five-year U.S. government contract valued at over $150 million to provide sustaining engineering and program management services for the military's T-6 Texan II aircraft fleet.

The contract covers T-6A, T-6B and T-6D aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Army. Services include systems engineering, program management and support for maintenance, repairs, modifications and integrity programs. Work will be performed in Wichita, Kansas.

This award extends an initial contract first granted in 2021. The modification increases the total cumulative contract ceiling from $240 million to $510 million, according to the company's statement.

The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II serves as a military flight trainer aircraft. The fleet consists of more than 700 aircraft that require ongoing sustainment support under the program.

Textron Aviation Defense manufactures and supports military training aircraft. The company states that the T-6 family has accumulated more than 5 million flight hours across NATO military flight schools and 15 countries since 2001.
