April 13, 2026 8:31 AM

Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT) announced two leadership appointments effective immediately, according to a company press release. Gary Merrill has been named Chief Financial Officer, while Geoff Haydon will serve as President of Customer and Field Operations. Both executives report to CEO Sanjay Mirchandani.

Merrill returns to the CFO role after previously holding the position from 2022 to 2024. He spent the past two years as Commvault's Chief Commercial Officer, leading sales and partner organizations. Merrill has more than 20 years of experience at Commvault, including 15 years in the finance organization.

Haydon joins Commvault from cybersecurity company Ontinue, where he served as CEO. Ontinue provides AI-powered managed extended detection and response services and spun out of Open Systems in 2023. Haydon previously held leadership roles at VMware and Secureworks. He will leave Commvault's Board of Directors to focus on his operating role.

In his new position, Haydon will oversee the end-to-end customer experience, including sales, partnerships, customer support and success operations.

"Gary has a long tenure with Commvault and a unique understanding of what customers need to be resilient in the AI era," Mirchandani said in the release.

The company reaffirmed its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2026 guidance previously issued on January 27, 2026. Commvault will host its next earnings conference call on April 28, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
