Bitcoin Depot names Tony Gagliardi as chief compliance officer

April 13, 2026 8:01 AM

Bitcoin Depot Inc. (NASDAQ: BTM) appointed Tony Gagliardi as chief compliance officer, effective April 8, according to a company statement. The Atlanta-based Bitcoin ATM operator said Gagliardi will report directly to CEO Alex Holmes.

Gagliardi will oversee Bitcoin Depot's compliance program, including anti-money laundering and know-your-customer programs, licensing and regulatory compliance strategies, transaction monitoring, and risk management initiatives.

"Tony joins Bitcoin Depot during a pivotal period as we continue to enhance our compliance and consumer protection capabilities in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment," Holmes said in the statement.

Gagliardi brings more than 15 years of experience in compliance programs across banking, payments, fintech, and digital assets. He previously held senior compliance positions at cryptocurrency firms including OKX, where he served as global head of sanctions, Paxos as director of compliance oversight, and Coinbase as global head of financial crimes compliance governance. He also worked at HSBC and Standard Chartered.

The appointment follows Bitcoin Depot's February initiative to require customer identification for every transaction at its kiosks. The company said this enhancement strengthens safeguards against potential misuse and positions it as the first major operator to implement per-transaction ID verification.

Bitcoin Depot operates over 9,000 kiosk locations globally as of August 2025, according to the company. The firm provides services in 47 states through its kiosks and at retail locations in 31 states through its BDCheckout product.
