NRx Pharmaceuticals names Glenn Tyson as first Chief Commercial Officer
NRx Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: NRXP) appointed Glenn Tyson as its first Chief Commercial Officer as the biopharmaceutical company prepares for potential product launches in the mental health treatment sector.
Tyson brings 25 years of commercial experience in pharmaceutical development and sales, with specific focus on mental health medications. He previously served at GSK for 14 years in senior roles before joining Indivior as VP of Strategy and New Product Development, later becoming President of Behavioral Health. During his tenure at Indivior, he led the launch of SUBLOCADE, a monthly injectable treatment for opioid addiction.
The appointment comes as NRx anticipates approval of an Abbreviated New Drug Application for its preservative-free ketamine product. The company is also preparing a New Drug Application under Fast Track Designation to expand intravenous ketamine use for treating patients with severe depression and suicidal ideation.
NRx is developing NRX-100, a preservative-free intravenous ketamine treatment, and NRX-101, an oral D-cycloserine/lurasidone combination. The company has filed an ANDA and initiated a New Drug Application filing for NRX-100, seeking approval for treating suicidal ideation in patients with depression, including bipolar depression.
"We are excited for Glenn to join the NRx executive team," said Dr. Jonathan C. Javitt, NRx's CEO and Chairman, according to the company's statement.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Tyson will oversee market access, distribution, sales and marketing functions to support the commercialization of the company's psychiatric treatment portfolio. The Wilmington, Delaware-based company focuses on neuroplastic therapies for depression, PTSD, and related conditions.
