Douglas Emmett adds Gensler's Andy Cohen to board of directors

Douglas Emmett, Inc. (NYSE: DEI) announced that Andy Cohen has been elected to its board of directors, according to a company press release.



Cohen serves as Global Co-Chair of Gensler, which the company describes as the world's largest architecture, design and planning firm. The firm operates 60 offices with 6,500 professionals across multiple regions including the Americas, Europe, Greater China, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.



Cohen spent 43 years at Gensler, serving as Co-CEO from 2005 to 2024 before assuming his current role as Global Co-Chair and Co-Chair of the firm's board of directors. Under his leadership, Gensler generated over $2 billion in revenue and designed projects in over 100 countries in 2025.



The architect holds registrations in 41 states and three Canadian provinces. He serves as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and graduated from the Pratt Institute. Cohen also holds positions on several advisory boards, including the Urban Land Institute's Urban Development and Mixed-Use Council, the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at Berkeley's Haas School of Business, the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs Board of Advisors, and the USC School of Architecture Board of Councilors.



Douglas Emmett operates as a real estate investment trust focused on office and multifamily properties in coastal submarkets of Los Angeles and Honolulu.
