Zebra Technologies partners with Aiva Health for voice-enabled nursing tools
Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA) announced a partnership with Aiva Health to integrate voice-powered clinical software into Zebra's healthcare devices. The collaboration brings Aiva's AI-powered Nurse Assistant to Zebra's HC20/HC50 mobile computers and new WS101-H wearable badge devices.
The Aiva Nurse Assistant enables nurses to perform routine tasks through voice commands without interrupting patient care. The system supports flowsheet documentation for Epic and Cerner/Oracle Health systems, work order submission via ServiceNow, access to clinical policies and procedures, and voice-initiated clinical interpretation sessions through LanguageLine and AMN Healthcare.
When used with Zebra's HC20/HC50 mobile computers, nurses can access Aiva alongside existing mobile workflows. The WS101-H badge enables hands-free interactions, allowing nurses to speak naturally without reaching for devices, including while wearing gloves or performing procedures.
The voice AI system provides fast, low-latency voice interactions, HIPAA-compliant communication, and integration with hospital systems and workflows, according to the companies.
"Nurses are the heart of healthcare, and our mission is to empower them with technology that lets them focus on what they do best: caring for patients," said Kassaundra McKnight-Young, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Zebra Technologies.
Sumeet Bhatia, Aiva Founder and CEO, stated that the partnership aims to reduce administrative burden for nurses while improving patient experience and reducing costs.
The partnership represents part of Zebra's Orchestrated Care framework, designed to provide intelligent visibility, empower healthcare teams and optimize operations through its portfolio of healthcare technology including mobile computers, scanners, printers, RFID and real-time location solutions.
