Tecnoglass cuts 2026 earnings guidance due to aluminum tariffs
Tecnoglass Inc. (NYSE: TGLS) reduced its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance to $225 million to $245 million following the implementation of new U.S. tariffs on aluminum window imports, according to a company statement.
The guidance adjustment reflects a $50 million net impact from a 10% tariff on finished aluminum window products imported into the U.S., which took effect April 2, 2026, as part of updated White House trade policy on Section 232 metals tariffs.
The company reported first-quarter performance aligned with expectations and maintained a record backlog. Tecnoglass confirmed its double-digit revenue growth expectations for 2026 remain unchanged.
Chief Executive Officer José Manuel Daes said the company has implemented pricing actions effective with orders beginning in early May, expected to benefit second-half results. The company is also pursuing operational efficiencies including logistics improvements, increased automation, and workforce adjustments.
Chief Financial Officer Santiago Giraldo stated the pricing actions and efficiency initiatives position the company to partially offset the tariff impact in 2026 and fully neutralize it in 2027. The updated guidance also incorporates potential impacts from sustained elevated aluminum prices in the second half of 2026.
Tecnoglass, based in Barranquilla, Colombia, produces aluminum and vinyl windows and architectural glass for residential and commercial markets. The U.S. accounts for 95% of the company's total revenues.
The company plans to provide additional details with its first-quarter results in early May.
