TPG names Admiral William McRaven to board as independent director
TPG Inc. (NASDAQ: TPG) announced the appointment of retired U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McRaven to its board of directors as an independent director, effective May 1, 2026.
McRaven brings more than four decades of experience across public and private sectors. He currently serves as a senior advisor at Lazard Inc. and as a professor of national security at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
During his military career, McRaven commanded special operations forces at multiple levels and eventually led all U.S. Special Operations. He has advised Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama on international relations and security matters.
McRaven currently serves on the board of directors of ConocoPhillips and the advisory board of Haveli Investments. He also serves on boards of the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Football Foundation, the International Crisis Group, and The Mission Continues. He previously served as chancellor of the University of Texas System and on the advisory board of Palantir Technologies Inc.
