Cardiff Oncology names Mani Mohindru CEO, adds two executives

Cardiff Oncology Inc. (NASDAQ: CRDF) appointed Mani Mohindru as president and chief executive officer, transitioning from her interim CEO role, and named two new executives to senior positions.



The clinical-stage biotechnology company also appointed Josh Muntner as chief financial officer, effective April 6, and Ajay Aggarwal as chief operating officer, effective April 27, according to a company statement.



Muntner brings over 25 years of experience in biopharma finance and investment banking. He previously served as CFO of Imvax Inc., where he led an $86 million convertible financing, and CFO of Mesoblast Ltd., where he completed approximately $300 million in cross-border equity and debt financings. He holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.



Aggarwal is a board-certified physician with more than 15 years in pharmaceutical industry experience spanning respiratory, immunology and oncology drug development. He most recently served as senior vice president and head of clinical development at Aclaris Therapeutics and previously held the chief medical officer role at CereXis Inc. He received his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.



Cardiff Oncology granted Muntner stock options to purchase 486,650 shares at $1.58 per share as an inducement grant under Nasdaq rules. The options vest over four years with 25% vesting after 12 months.



The San Diego-based company is developing onvansertib, a PLK1 inhibitor currently in Phase 2 trials for first-line treatment of RAS-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer.
