FuboTV launches AI-powered mobile app upgrades for sports streaming
FuboTV Inc. (NYSE: FUBO) announced upgrades to its iOS and Android mobile applications that incorporate the company's proprietary artificial intelligence technology to enhance sports streaming for mobile users.
The streaming service introduced several new features designed for mobile viewing. Live video carousels now display on the home screen, allowing users to begin watching games immediately upon opening the app rather than viewing static images. The company's Team Channels feature has been expanded with additional filters based on favorite leagues and now uses AI to identify specific moments within full shows to create playlists of game coverage.
The app will introduce vertical video formatting for Team Channels in the coming weeks, using AI models to focus on critical areas of video content for portrait viewing. Game alerts have been enhanced for baseball fans to include push notifications about significant plays, with one-tap access to view the specific moments. The service also added breaking news alerts that direct users to live news coverage with a single tap.
"We recognize that sports fans and news junkies aren't always at home," said Isaac Josephson, senior vice president of product management at Fubo. "By leveraging our proprietary AI at scale, we're transforming the Fubo mobile app from a simple streaming tool into a high-value, personalized, content engine."
The upgrades represent FuboTV's effort to expand its streaming services beyond traditional home viewing to accommodate mobile consumption patterns. The company stated the enhancements are available on both iOS and Android platforms.
